Iran Livestock Expo Puts Financing and Investment in Focus

Facing tight credit and rising production costs, Iran’s livestock and poultry sector is using its largest annual trade fair to push for investment, technology and international partnerships rather than simply showcase goods.

Organizers said the 25th International Livestock, Poultry and Related Industries Exhibition will draw 16 countries: China, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, India, Denmark, Russia, Kazakhstan, Italy, Argentina, Turkey, Ukraine, Oman, the UAE, Malaysia and Brazil.

At a Ministry of Agriculture press conference, Majid Movahed Qadiri, head of Iran’s Feed, Poultry and Aquatic Industries Association, said the event’s slogan is “Synergy for Food Security and National Resilience.” The program centers on financing, investment and business development, reflecting the industry’s liquidity challenges.

The fair will dedicate days to nutrition health and biosecurity; technology and innovation; trade, international engagement and investment; and production quality and productivity.

Fifty Iranian knowledge-based companies will take part, with domestic participation up 75 percent and foreign participation up 100 percent. Organizers are offering 1,000 square meters of free exhibition space to knowledge-based firms.

Also expected are 17 trade delegations, 103 foreign visitors and 280 feed-factory managers and poultry farmers. Ten specialized panels, student tours and a first-ever innovation event for startups and investors are planned.

A national financing campaign has already engaged more than 30 banks, with bank leaders set to meet producers directly. Foreign firms attending aim to sell products, present technology, attract investment and import goods.

For Iran’s livestock industry, the message is clear: future growth will depend on capital, innovation and global ties.
