Fars Rolls Out the Red Carpet: Shiraz Expo 2026 Draws 13 Nations

Fars Province opened the second International Shiraz Expo on Sunday, October 11, welcoming 343 foreign guests from 13 countries alongside more than 200 domestic companies. The 20,000-square-meter event, running through October 17, opened with Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Seyyed Reza Salehi Amiri, Governor Hossein-Ali Amiri, and Fars parliamentarians in attendance.

Addressing the ceremony, Amiri framed the expo as a statement of intent: “We warmly shake the hands of all those who come to Fars for investment and roll out the red carpet for them.” He said the provincial administration is prepared to supply the legal and executive frameworks investors need to launch and expand joint ventures.

Fars, he noted, offers broad opportunities in industry, mining, tourism, trade, and health and pilgrimage tourism. Officials aim to use the expo to showcase those strengths and deepen international partnerships.

The governor pointed to last year’s debut, held with Persian Gulf countries, which generated more than $3.5 billion in contracts and memoranda of understanding. Building on that success, this year’s edition widens participation to introduce Fars’s economic potential to a larger global audience. Organizers say the expanded guest list reflects growing regional interest in Fars as a trade and transit hub.
