Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian has named Hamid Bovard as acting oil minister after accepting Mohsen Paknejad’s resignation. In a decree citing Article 135 of the Constitution, Pezeshkian pointed to Bovard’s commitment, expertise, and executive experience.
He urged the new caretaker to pursue the Vision Document, Leader’s general policies, and the Seventh Development Plan while cooperating with the Cabinet and observing the Government of National Unity’s ethics charter.
Bovard is a seasoned oil executive. Before this appointment, he served as deputy oil minister and CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company, a role he assumed in Shahrivar 1403. His long career includes leading Maroun Oil and Gas Production Company, the National Iranian South Oil Company, Iranian Oil Exploration Operations Company, and Iranian Offshore Oil Company.
