Iran-EAEU Trade on Upward Path, TPO Chief Says in Minsk

Iran’s trade with the Eurasian Economic Union is rising despite global hurdles, the head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization said in talks with EAEU Trade Minister Slepnev.

Mohammad Ali Dehghan Dehnavi, also deputy minister of industry, mining and trade, pointed to upward trade statistics, calling them a promising sign for future commercial relations.

He reaffirmed Tehran’s determination to expand and deepen trade with EAEU member states and to strengthen private-sector ties.

Iran maintains regular trade cooperation with Russia and other members, he said, adding that efforts are underway to make these relations deeper than before. Dehghan Dehnavi expressed hope that the second Iran-EAEU joint committee meeting will be held soon in Tehran, describing it as a valuable opportunity to connect private sectors and create new economic partnerships.

He also stressed continued consultations and the use of existing capacities to develop economic and trade cooperation. Dehghan Dehnavi is in Minsk for the 19th Iran-Belarus Joint Economic Cooperation Commission. The remarks were reported by the TPO’s public relations office this week.
