South Pars Phase 11 has moved closer to full output after its twelfth well was readied for production ahead of winter. Acting project director Keyvan Tarighati said drilling, completion and perforation are finished; trial flow is underway, and nominal capacity is expected within days. The well is the last at SPD11B.
The milestone caps a rapid turnaround under the 14th government. Location B output has climbed from about 400 million cubic feet per day in the 12th and 13th governments to more than 915 mcf/d. With the twelfth well connected in coming weeks, it should hit 1 bcf/d.
At Location A, the 4,000-ton jacket is installed offshore, and topside construction has advanced from roughly 4% to nearly 50%, heading toward 80% at load-out. Work continued despite sanctions, regional threats and rocket strikes on the 11A topside site.
Phase 11, the shared South Pars field’s last undeveloped phase, is being executed by Petropars under Iran’s new oil contract model. Initial output at Location A will begin with four to six wells, with a new well roughly every four months over about three years. The field supplies most domestic gas.
