Iran's economy is showing signs of recovery following the shock of recent military conflict, the head of the Iran Chamber of Commerce said on Sunday.
Samad Hassanzadeh told business representatives that economic activities have resumed after a period of sharp contraction, citing private sector resilience and a reduction in shock intensity compared to the first quarter of the Iranian calendar year. He described the trend as "hopeful" but stressed that continued improvement depends on further progress in international relations.
Hassanzadeh also commended President Masoud Pezeshkian's directive to exempt industries from power cuts during the summer month of Shahrivar. The measure aims to protect production and employment, with the President instructing the Ministries of Industry and Energy to prioritize other consumers over industrial units.
"The necessary infrastructure is being prepared to ensure that industrial towns and production units face minimal disruption," Hassanzadeh added.
The announcement comes as Iran's private sector continues to navigate the economic fallout from the war, with policymakers seeking to balance energy conservation with the need to sustain industrial activity and jobs.
